GotY Awards 2K9 (must read)

GotY Awards 2K9

First! Happy new year to you guys who read this.
Here is the Game of the Year 2009 awards based on GT!

Most dissapointing game (note that this is the most dissapointing, not worst!)
==========================================
Which game drew in most attention only to achieve epic failure?

And the nominees are:
i) Bionic Commando!
ii) Resident Evil 5!
iii) Grand Turismo 4 PSP!
iv) Tony Hawk: Ride
v) Wolfenstein: (????) - i will update it later...

==========================================
AND THE LOSER IS!!!!! (LOLS)

>>>Tony Hawk: Ride<<<

My Opinion: In my opinion, RE5 should be the sore loser for this category. It swept almost every award available at E3 2008. And it turns out to be a cool action-survival game, not a horror-survival game. Besides, RE5 just copied too much from RE4. Maybe RE6 will rock you out, or...ummm...maybe not. For the Grand Turismo, it's a frustrating game for players as it is hard to make your ride upgraded to your heart's core. It's more like a mental torture game. Even this game showed the true ability of PSP graphic processing. Last but not least, bad luck to the nominees!

GotY Awards 2009 - Biggest Surprise
==========================================
Which game turned out to be the biggest surprise this year?

And the nominees are:

iv) New Mario Bros. WII
v) Ultimate Fighting Champion 2009 Undisputed
==========================================
AND THE WINNER IS...

>>>Batman: Arkham Asylum<<<

My Opinion: Yep, in this generation of gaming, it's difficult to vow audiences with something truly surprsing as these industries are being too predictable. From trash to treasure, from zero to hero...congratulations to these nominees! For the winner, that is Batman: Arkham Asylum, I can only say that this game surprises me alot. Because most of the movie-based games doesnt really standout in it's genre, like Spiderman made by Activision. My friend was first telling me that Batman AA rocks! While I'm still doubting the potential and quality of that game. For DC heads, AA is a fantastic game, and for the batman non-enthusiastic person like me, you still need to try it as well, it's a must play! For Demon's Souls, I have nothing to say but a commercial and a practical success. For NFSS, first I thought is Need For Speed: Shit, cause NFS series has been disappointing me after NFSMW. But the new NFS got a cockpit view!(cool) Making it a great racing simulator! NFS:S also has awesome physics, texture and high-speed thrills compared to previous titles. It's a pedal to a medal. For the Mario, almost all of the people say: "This is not the mario we want!!" at E3 2008, and everyone doubt the quality of the end product. In fact, this game still have the magic touch for mario lovers for being one of the best 2D game. No comments for UFC. :P

GotY Awards 2009 - Best PSP Game
==========================================
Which Portable PlayStation game takes the top prize on the road?

And the nominees are:
i) Dissidia: Final Fantasy
ii) Little Big Planet
iii) Resistance: Retribution
iv) Half-Minute Hero
v) Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars

==========================================
AND THE WINNER IS...

>
>>>Resistance: Retribution<<<

My Opinion: I have nothing but to agree 100% on the winner. Resistance: Retribution's deep and rock solid single player campaign, great graphics, immersive voice casting and enough firepower to light up the midnight sky has made itself won an award! This is one of the best-looking PSP game ever! And Dissidia: Final Fantasy is a really good game. What make it nominated? It's the fighting system that have great combos and effects and this surely make itself standout in it's genre. About Half-Minute Hero. OK, ask yourself who wanna play a RPG game that sucks from days to months of your precious time? While Half-Minute Hero, as by it's name, it's a fast-paced RPG game and it combines half-minutes to hours of fun! It's sure a must play for RPG lovers! And yeah, the Rockstar has made it again! Their GTA series always rocks as usual. This GTA:CW has it's graphics refined and obviously, better than NDS. Rockstar also tweaked some gameplay and make it more fascinating. Thumbs up for Rockstar.

GotY Awards 2009 - Best Fighting Game
==========================================
KO! my favorite category here!!!
Which fighter climbed its way to the top this year?

And the nominees are:
i) Blazblue: Calamity Trigger
ii) Street Fighter 4
iii) Tekken 6
iv) Fight Night Round
v) Ultimate Fighting Champion 2009 Undisputed

==========================================
AND THE KO MASTER IS...
>
>
>
>>>Street Fighter 4<<<

My Opinion: It's SF4, nothing surprised me. Anyway, in my opinion, a great fighting games is made by carefully balancing of characters, great graphics and very user-friendly controls. Blazblue is kinda Guilty Gear type fighting games, or melty blood you can say. For those non-anime fighting game players, you should also try this as well as it characters are really balanced and the graphics are really outstanding for a 2D fighting. Tekken 6, one of my favorite games, is really nice for me(and you too, perhaps). I love the characters to be smart and sexy, and their fighting styles and combos really satisfy me. For UFC, I'm happy for it to reveal himself in the spotlight again!

Up next, GotY Awards 2009 - Best Trailer

GotY Awards 2009 - Best Trailer
==========================================
Which trailer packed the most showcasing power?

And the nominees are:
i) Assassin's Creed II
ii) The Last Guardian
iii) Star Wars: The Old Republic
iv) God of War III
v) Halo: ODST

==========================================
AND THE GREATEST BLOCKBUSTER IS...(LOLS)
>
>
>
>>>The Last Guardian<<<

My Opinion: Best trailer, do this worth an award? Lols. Anyway let's get it started. Trailer is kinda important tool to make a person has enough hype to buy the game. While these five nominees are really good. I bet those judges are having hard time when picking the winner. About AC2, it's about the protagonist, Ezio doing stuffs and unleash the cool way to take down his enemy through his vendetta. You can watch the trailer at our blog. God of War III is more like the main character acting like John Rambo taking those useless roach out of his way using extremly "barbaric" and bloody skills. It's really cool, believe me. And for Star Wars, it's like a blockbuster movie produced by Lucas featuring Jedi VS Sith...you can see much killing and much explosion. A really jaw-dropping trailer. And for ODST, ODST used real guy acting in the trailer. And the trailer is mind-blowing, guess that real-guy idea was not a waste at all. Last one, The Last Guardian, nothing to say but thumbs up!
